Q: I can find lots of Buddhist terms in Nature’s Teaching. Is it similar to Buddhism?
A: It is like considering a foreigner who speaks Korean very well as a Korean. The reason why Nature’s Teaching contains lots of Buddhist terms is that, when you call what exists in the world, you use the terms which are already present in human society. Nature’s Teaching can’t create new terminology. Besides, if you look into the contents of Nature’s Teaching, they are revealing the truth of the present religions to help people see the reality rightly other than being similar to those of the present religions.
Nature’s Teaching is demonstrating ways to see problems in what exists. Through these ways, if people can understand what makes things of the world come into being, they can enlighten themselves to conduct good activity and live a good life. This is impossible through the present religions.
Q: Religions express differently the gods they worship. Anyway, if we deeply believe in such an existence, can we be saved and live longer?
A: Even a single one of those who seek after God will not be saved. In other words, nobody who seeks after and prays to God will succeed in saving oneself. Why is it so? This kind of thing can be easily demonstrated. Life is the way to keep you and continue your existence. The thing is that the way to eternal life lies in life. It is really a stupid thing not to pursue it through your own life but to pray to God to achieve it. It is to live not for life but for death. To those who pray to God for everything and abandon life, the truth is not a precious thing.
What use is the world to those who abandon themselves? They come to throw away themselves and follow falsehood. Although the truth of falsehood is easily revealed through confirmation, they are afraid that the falsehood is revealed and come to believe that the falsehood is true. After all, saving themselves is not achieved.
“Be alert to falsehood. Confirm all the time.”
This is the best message in this era.
Q: I do not know the exact meaning of the word, subconsciousness.
A: Subconsciousness is the consciousness which comes into existence due to what existed inside oneself. Every destiny comes to exist by subconsciousness. In other words, judgment, thoughts, or behavior takes place by the operation of what exists in consciousness.
Everything in the world has existed by subconsciousness. For example, when a seed of a pine tree was sown, a pine tree sprouted and grew. It is because a pine tree existed in the seed. The reason why some like certain things and others do not or people think or behave in specific ways is that intrinsic subconsciousness exists in their consciousness. If a special talent appears in a certain field where a person has never learned about it, it is due to the subconsciousness.
A blacksmith who dealt with metals for a long time in his past life was born. In this life, he was born in a rich family so he did not work at a smithy. One day when he was passing by a smithy, he saw a smith beating iron and came to interfere in his job.
“Hello! You’d better do the job this way.”
This is possible because what he did in the past lies dormant in his subconsciousness. Those who are brilliant in this life will be brilliant in their next life. Those who live earnestly will live so in their next life. Those who are leading a life of debauchery will live in the same way in their next life. After all, everything comes into existence by what happened.
Q: Which is better for living well, being in earnest or mastering skills?
A: No matter what good skills you may have, if you are not in earnest, it will be useless. However, although you do not possess any specific skills, if you are in earnest and endeavor to know what exists and learn through what exists, you will be greatly successful sometime. Even though earnestness does not seem more advantageous than skills for now, earnestness will prevail in the end. It is because you can attain better skills through earnestness later.
These days, there are some people who say they suffer losses because of earnestness, which is a matter of serious concern. Certain people might say they worked earnestly but it can be just their own words. It is like, although a wolf wearing sheepskin claims that it is a sheep, we can’t call it a sheep. It is said that, if ten people are asked about their being in earnest, almost all of them answer that they work earnestly. We can hardly find people who say they are not in earnest.
Q: What kind of caliber does a leader have?
A: A good leader must be true. Those who are true and think highly of what exists can be a good leader. A good leader makes a fair society. In such kind of society, every individual can display his or her ability to the fullest. Such society where all the members show their abilities can create great power and wealth. Then, the society changes into a rich and powerful society. A good leader must be a true person.
